There she worked in lake conservation and other environmental consciousness building activities.
Eventually, she began asking questions like “what is education? How can an atmosphere be created for children/adults to question, self-enquire and be nature-conscious?”. She felt the need to understand the education system and the importance of learning and unlearning.. Since then she has worked in the education sector.
Shruti has worked as a teacher for 5 years now. She worked with an alternative school named Riverside International in Ahmedabad. Later she worked with Prakriya Green Wisdom School (Banglore), which is part of Bhumi, a semi-alternative center where she engaged children in nature walks, library and facilitated environmental sciences program with middle & high school students.
She got married to Parth Patel, also a fellow walker, in May 2019 and since then she has been travelling without any plans and timelines on her bicycle. “When I heard of Jai Jagat, I was moved by the concept and decided to join hands with other concerned citizens who want to leave a better world for the next generation. I see this as a movement of the people for the well-being of the whole world. A movement of such stature is required to reach out to people and to share and learn from the experiences of living simple and sustainable lives.”
